Harlingen South Senior, Catherine Duncan, will be attending Northwest University to study Journalism. She has chosen to attend this school because it is located in Chicago and she loves the community. On her spare time she would like to join the Music Department, learn how to speak and write the Chinese language.

Stars Travel to Dallas for Competition
|
|
|
The Southern Stars will be competing in Dallas for a dance competition called "The Dallas Spectacular" on Feb.14, 2020. They will compete in four dance routines and two officer routines. "The girls have been putting in a lot of work and practice time to do their very best. I am very proud of all their efforts and dedication," says director, Eleann Lopez.

Varsity Girls Soccer Shutout Greyhounds
|
|
The mighty Lady Hawks won their varsity soccer away game against San Benito Feb. 4th with a score of 8-0. Sarah Grace Flores-Garza scored the winning goal for the Lady South Hawks.

The South Chess team recently participated at San Benito's Veteran's School. Their next tournament will be the state tournament in McAllen March 6th-8th.

South SkillsUSA Graphic Communications Chapter Partners with the Humane Society of Harlingen
|
|
South's SkillsUSA Graphic Communications Chapter has partnered with the Humane Society of Harlingen to help with rebranding and facility improvement efforts. The team, which is led by Ashley Madrid (11), Kevin Earl (11), and Nancy Grimaldo (10), devised a plan which includes a new logo proposal and design of print and web publications to help increase awareness.
