THE ATHLETE'S TAKE
"I ended up 24th today at Worlds. If you'd told me yesterday that’s where I would end up, I’d probably have been very happy to hear it, but weirdly enough I’m actually a little disappointed about how this one ended. After rolling inside the top-20 for the first half of the race, I cracked in a pretty big way on the last couple of laps. I probably could have paced that one a little better, but sometimes you just have to go for it when the opportunity is there. I think a lot of times we, as riders, limit ourselves by how fast we think we can go and just stick in the same group race after race. Yeah, I'm not happy that I couldn't make it stick this time, but now I know I can ride with that next group up. So no, no regrets about it!"

"I knew the race was going to be very challenging, especially given that I had not had an opportunity to race cyclocross for the 7 weeks since Nationals and had just arrived in Europe a few days prior. I was a 5th-row call-up and a small mishap at the start had me literally in the last place at 46th. I just kept fighting to move up as much as I could and I finished 30th (3rd American). It's not the result I wanted, and I know I am capable of much better, but I gave it my all and had such a great experience being part of the first-ever Junior Women's USA CX Worlds Team!"

"Bummed to come in flat for the most stacked race of the year, but it’s given me some great perspective to work with for big events in the future. This season brought some real breakthroughs thanks to the teams’ platform and sponsors, it was amazing to have everyone along for the ride! We just finished racing and I’m missing it already."
