Southside Partnership DLR Women's Programme - New January - June 2020 Programme Released Now... 

Southside Partnership DLR and women4women network DLR offer a programme each term for women living and working in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown. 

Together they:
  • organise networking events to create opportunities for women to meet, share and learn
  • offer training, development and capacity building courses
  • support migrant women in their integration
  • network, lobby and advocate on local and national levels
  • assist women in taking part in the Women and Leadership Programme

SCTN Spring Training Courses in Development

Southside Community Training Network is currently finalising its training options for the next few weeks. Upcoming training will focus on areas of health & wellbeing, capacity-building and more. We will be releasing an extra training alert with information on upcoming courses once confirmed.

Next Multi-Cultural Women's Breakfast - January 30th 2020

DLR Social Prescribing Programme for Health & Wellbeing

Linking you with sources of support in your local community
Social Prescribing is about supporting the health and wellbeing of people by helping them to connect with a variety of local, community-based activities and supports in their community, such as physical activity classes, art, lifelong learning courses, gardening and more.
 
The Social Prescribing Co-ordinator will talk to you about what activities interest you, the benefit of participating in them and will assist and support you in attending these activities.
 
Who is it for?
The programme is for you if you feel that you need some support to mind your health and wellbeing or if you feel isolated, stressed, anxious or depressed. Using resources within the community will help you to benefit from meeting other people or taking part in a new activity.

Job Seeking Skills Workshop - February 2020


Southside Partnership DLR will be offering a Job Seeking Skills Workshop in February 2020 as part of its RePower Programme. This programme is open to women who are not employed and are NOT in receipt of a social welfare allowance. Please click on the flyer for more details on the course content. Next Upcoming Youth at Risk Events

To build on our great series in 2019, please find the dates for the next upcoming Youth at Risk events for your diary. There will be 3 events this year:
 
2nd April 2020
28th May 2020 
26th November 2020
 
All events will take place on a Thursday, at 09.30-1pm, in the Scout’s Den in Cooleevin, (same venue as last year).

FREE 1-Day HACCP Course
Southside Partnership DLR will be running a FREE 1-day HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) Training. The training which focuses on food safety will be running on March 26th 2020 for a full day at the Scout Den in Ballybrack. Upcoming Jobs Club



This is a free, innovative and interactive programme that rebuilds the confidence and skills for participants who are actively looking for employment and want to update their job seeking skills and techniques to secure a job. This training will help unemployed people to:
- Identify and document their skills
- Prepare a winning CV
- Successful interview skills

Men on the Move - The best move You'll ever make

Are you aged 30+, male and not very active? Do you want to feel fitter, have fun, have more energy and meet new people? If you do, why not get involved in the Men On the Move Programme with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership.
 
Men on the Move is a free 12-Week physical activity programme aimed at adult men over the age of thirty to support them to become active, have fun and improve their fitness levels in a social group. Participants should benefit from more energy, better weight control, improved mobility, greater functional fitness and overall better wellbeing.
 
The twice weekly one-hour physical activity sessions are indoor & outdoor based, focusing on aerobic exercises for forty minutes and works on core strength and flexibility for twenty minutes. We will be including a variety of different sessions some of which include walking, circuits, running, football, partner work and more.
 
At the outset of the programme participants will be recording weight, height, BMI, waist circumference and complete the Rockport walk test and again at the end of the programme so that participants can see the improvements they have made.  We are also including two information sessions on Nutrition and Mindfulness, to help participants get more from the programme. 
 
Start date, Tuesday 4th  of Feb & Thursday 6th of Feb. Time, 7pm – 8pm, Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua, Ballyogan

FREE Community CPR Training through The Irish Heart Foundation 

Hands for Life: Community CPR Training is an Irish Heart Foundation programme, supported by Abbott and ESB Networks, providing FREE CPR training in communities across Ireland for adults aged 18 years and over.

They have a range of upcoming courses around the country – see here to access the list of available locations and dates, e.g. St Patricks Parish Centre Monkstown 29th of February 2020.
