Hello Robins,

We have four big things in this newsletter:

1) Decisions by the Annual General Meeting 2019
2) Call to the Extra GM meeting on March 15th, 2020
3) The campaign for financing to begin soon
4) Looking for a software development coordinator

Decisions by the AGM 2019

The AGM2019 ended on the 15th of January, and successfully finalised the items left over from AGM 2018 as well.

In the meeting, the members approved the audited financial statements for 2017-2018 and 2018-2019, and on that basis decided over the future of the coop. The decision was to refinance through voluntary contributions so we will start a campaign to gather at least 30 000 € in order to facilitate the development of the member pages to functional form.

The AGM also chose a new board, with Akseli Virtanen, David Turek and Tere Vadén. The board has started working, and is excited to welcome David as a new contributor!

The minutes of the AGM 2019 can be found here.

Call to the Extra General Meeting on March 15, 2020

As also decided in the AGM 2019, if the refinancing does not succeed, the coop is to be called to a general meeting to decide on dissolution.

This is the official call for an extra members’ meeting of the coop on March 15, 2020. The agenda includes decision on the dissolution of the coop. As all previous General Meetings it will be held in Loomio and all members will get email with invitation link.

Starting the campaign for financing

The main task now is to campaign for refinancing, with contributors both from within the existing members of the coop and new friends that are not yet members. The board is preparing the steps as we speak and there will be more on this very soon. Keep an eye on your inboxes (make sure our emails are not going to spam folder).

Looking for a software development coordinator

Another crucial item is to find a coordinator for the development of the codebase: someone who organises the development sprint at the coop side (with the developer team that has agreed to help us with it) and holds the codebase in grip. We are not necessarily looking for someone with “mad skillz” or advanced professional career – even though that would be wonderful – we mostly need help from a person who can put effort into the project, and who is interested in a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a real-world application of commons-building and software innovation.

Let us know if that is you or someone you know!

More on both of these campaigns soon.
