The Start of the 2020 Legislative Session

As of Wednesday, January 8th, the Second Regular Session of the 72nd General Assembly of the Colorado State Legislature has begun. This year, I look forward to returning to my role as Senate President for the second year. In addition to serving as President, I will also be serving as Vice Chair on both the Executive Committee of the Legislative Council, as well as Legislative Council.

Opening day was started with a prayer led by Father Joseph Vigil of St. Joseph’s Parish in Pueblo as well as a wonderful performance by the Pueblo Children’s Chorale. There was also my opening speech, one by Minority Leader Holbert, and the Governor’s State of the State address, given the following day.
