PRACTICE IS ON (in doors)

We are indoors this week @ St Ninan's because of the smoke! However we'll be back outdoors next week as per usual! New members welcome!

Capital Encontro - APRIL 5th
Sign up to participate in Raio’s Capital Encontro set. We’ll be putting ourselves first on the set list to open this mass gathering of baterias and would love to have a big group as the hosting bateria. As this one has performers travelling from interstate, we have an additional performer poll.

Multicultural Parade Rehearsal - FEB 15th
This is a specific practice for dancers for the Multicultural Festival - we'll be playing here for a one off samba parade workshop. While we’re parading separately at MCF, this practice is a great opportunity to bring the Brazilian vibe up even more and add some additional cultural elements in helping bring to life how a parade is traditionally structured for a passista core. It’s a little like how carnival is prepared for in Rio.

Parramasala - MARCH 13th
We’ve been invited to play alongside Western Sydney Samba in Parramasala festival. It was incredible last year but Raio joined Unidos de Sydney. This year Western Sydney Samba have extended the offer to individuals or groups wanting to parade with their Bateria. It’s a great collaboration opportunity with yet another great Bateria - so you can sign up as a individual drummer and if we get enough, Raio will look into a band trip to Sydney. Slight chance this could blend into Bondi Latin Festival and double gig this weekend in Sydney.

Thanks to all drummers and dancers who performed at the Fundraising gigs last SATURDAY 25th JANUARY! We performed @ Smiths Alternative as part of the RED SUN FUNDRAISER (photos) and also at Captains Flat as part of the RAISE THE FUN FEST.

As a CBR band we love to support our local community - thank you to all - especially the chef's of the free BBQ we were treated to at the oval at Captains Flat - which was also the location of this photo below!
