CONGRATS TO THE MURRAY SPELLING BEE PARTICIPANTS!

Earlier this month students from grades 3, 4, and 5 took a spelling test in order to compete in the annual school Spelling Bee.  We are very proud of the 22 students who were part of Tuesday morning’s Spelling Bee.  They did a great job!

Grade Three:  Charlotte Abraham, Rudy Acharya, Sarah Hirst, Luke Lapinski, Eva Ludwig, Ruud Steinberg

Grade Four:  Langdon Johnson, Thomas Manson, Edith Moak, Parker Root, Eli  Rutherford, Cort Stakem

Grade Five:  Jack Bakich, June Bennett, Claire Contiliano, Vivian Foutz, Quinn Fusco, Julia Hill, Lara Korkusuz, Violet Kunicki, Remy MacDonald, Izzy Park

The Spelling Bee lasted almost one hour, for a total of 20 rounds.  Two third graders, both of them in Jen Donalson’s class, were the last two students left in the Spelling Bee.  Luke Lapinski is this year’s runner-up and Rudy Acharya is the winner!  Congratulations to them both!

Rudy will represent Murray at the County Bee on February 12th, and Luke will take her place in the event that she cannot attend.
Great job, spellers!

COFFEE WITH COSTA: HENLEY INFO SESSIONS FOR PARENTS OF 5TH GRADERS

If you are the parent of a 5th grader, transitioning to Henley’s 6th Grade next year please join us at one of two Coffee with Costa sessions being held on Tuesday February 4th (9:15 – 10:45 am in the cafeteria and 6:30 – 7:45 pm in the library) to learn what to expect and what services are on offer to help with this transition. At the end of the session we will also be revisiting Course Recommendations, key dates and what is involved in this process, for those that were not able to attend the last Coffee with Costa where this was addressed.
