The NZMOA Salary Survey is a great tool for ensuring we are all well informed about pay rates and salary ranges within this industry. We'll be launching the 2020 survey very soon - members, please keep an eye on your inbox for this critical industry survey.
New Open Forum created
Three Open Forums are planned for 2020, including a new event designed for Marina Managers and the challenges they face, however big or small. These are facilitated days that enable our industry leaders and workers to share knowledge and findings with each other. You'll have the opportunity to suggest specific topics that are relevant to you right now. Details are in the calendar above.
NZMOA Awards 2020
We are also getting ready to open for entries, seeking recognition and accolades for our highest performing marinas and boatyards. Keep an eye on your inbox for more details soon.
NZMOA's Clean Marinas has been reviewed and modernised, and we invite your marina or boatyard operation to take part. New Zealand marinas are punching above their weight environmentally, and the programme reflects the high benchmark and how far we have come, and aims to lift the bar. We'll be in contact with members soon with details.
Industry standard needed urgently
Pathway Planning for marine pests is underway around the country, and NZMOA is seeking and providing guidance on a standard for boat cleaning and antifouling. Hull surveys regularly show that marine pests are still finding places to hitchhike on clean vessels, and an industry standard will ensure that boat owners can have confidence that their boats are clean before they go back in the water. A number of councils and Biosecurity New Zealand are involved in this project. Chris Galbraith, Phil Wardale and Andrew Welsh will be meeting with MPI in Wellington in March.
Congratulations to the recipients of New Zealand Certificate in Marina Facilities at the end of 2019. They are: Alivya Clarke from Far North Holdings Ltd, Jason Maud from Panuku Development Auckland and Ryan White from Panuku Development Auckland.
