At 9 am Lessons In Truth book study

Sacred Grounds & Books

This month our focus is Lesson 2 - Statement of Being (a super short read and powerful lesson), which explores: "Who and What God Is.....Who and What Man Is." As we examine this fundamental Truth, let's also reflect on our experience of Lesson 1 - Bondage or Liberty, Which? Remembering our divine inheritance - all good, wisdom, love, life and power; strengthening our practice of meditation as a way to grow our spiritual understanding, and allowing forgiveness to turn heartbreak to joy as we see God in all.

We begin promptly at 9 and end by 9:45. If you arrive after 9 am, join the group quietly. We're glad you can make it!

Lesson series begins:

True Love - A Practice for the Awakening Heart
Week 1: "Loving Kindness"

While loving-kindness expresses as selflessness, watchful care, thoughtfulness, and gentleness, it is rooted in our intention to love and our ability to deeply understand and recognize another’s joys and struggles.

Using the book by Thich Nhat Hanh as the basis of the series, as well as the teachings of Jesus and our foundational Unity principles, Rev. Debra Carter Williams will explore four important elements of loving relationships that are integral to compassionate engagement with the world.

Special Music - Hymn Sing

Always enjoyable and uplifting when the congregation sing our favorite hymns.

Are you curious what happens "behind the curtain"? (i.e. in the chapel on Sundays) The livestream team is looking for new members to create a weekly rotation. Feel free to arrive at 9:15 am and watch what we do. Or, join us after service for a team meeting.

CommUnity Connections (Outreach)
Team Lead - Jane Tappmayer
Description – This team helps Unity CR become more visible in the community. It works closely with the marketing team which includes participating in events like parades, the Downtown Farmers Market as well as standing with our community members in times of challenge. This team has room to grow.

Marketing

Description – This team helps promote UCR events in various media outlets (social media or other), maintains our website, and tells the world about us.
