We are just so excited to plan our 2020 field, garden and high tunnel production here at the Ryder Family Farm because our farm is growing again this spring.
We will have a high tunnel to build in two short weeks!

Some of you already know Nathan has extensive high tunnel growing experience and we have always dreamed of adding a high tunnel to our farm operation one day. A high tunnel has looked especially attractive in the last several years when flooding rains and freak winds have impacted our field & garden grown produce.

Good high tunnels cost a bit of money and haven't been an option for us in the past. Our farm has been waiting and working for many years on the dream of getting a high tunnel on our farm, now it is finally happening. We plan to have it up before spring of this year!

Adding a high tunnel will be a huge safety net for our crops. A high tunnel allows for a more controlled in-ground growing environment where weather and resources are concerned. We can better manage soil health, moisture, nutrients and pests in a high tunnel. It will also allow us to expand production and offer produce to our customers earlier in the year.

Now we can serve you better!

Each year we focus our garden plots on growing foods for our CSA members but with the addition of a high tunnel we can grow for a few more families and get a jump on spring produce offerings.

What is a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture is what CSA stands for. A CSA membership is a subscription to a season's worth of sustainable, locally grown produce that is distributed to members throughout the harvest season.

Our CSA program is an investment in our farm that later returns a season of wholesome, grown just for you, produce that allows our small to continue growing and safeguards local food security.

In January of each year we open up our membership enrollment period so folks can get signed up as soon as possible. We model our farm program this way so we have an idea of how much food to grow in the coming year and so membership costs cover the season's expenses upfront.

We offer competitive pricing and extend returning member discounts for early signups in January. As harvest season nears our share prices get more expensive and we enroll CSA members on a first come first serve basis. If you think you have interest in joining our program you can get more info and complete registration here.

What is a CSA Member? Who benefits?

Our CSA Membership is a relationship between our farm and you as our customer. Rather than simply purchasing food, our customers become “members” of our farm via our CSA program and receive a share of our farm’s harvest that are grown specifically for them. We also gift many farm goodies as bonus freebies to our members when their is a surplus.

CSA members have an exclusive relationship with our farm and will enjoy a seasonal local food journey through the CSA program.
