Men's Basketball Outing

Do you enjoy basketball, fellowship, food, or fun? If so, then this is the perfect event for you! We are getting a group of guys together to see the PSU vs. Minnesota men's basketball game on Saturday, February 8. Meals Ministry
Would you like to touch someone's life in a very practical way? As people within our church body experience medical challenges or a death in the family, welcome new children, move to a new home, etc., the Meals Ministry team members show love and concern by taking them nourishing meals. We would be glad to have you join the team of those who make and deliver meals to others in the church! Please contact Terri Verlinde at 814-777-6709 or tcverlinde@gmail.com if you would like to be added as a member of the Meals Ministry team. Each time a need arises, an email message is sent to the people on the team, and those who are able to serve sign up to prepare and deliver meals. There is no limit to the number of people who can join the Meals Ministry team, and you only need to sign up to bring a meal when it is convenient for you. Thank you so much for considering becoming a part of this ministry!

Due to rain, Tubing@Tussey@Ten! has been moved to Friday, February 7. We have reserved the entire tubing mountain, so it's just our group. Feel free to invite friends. We'll be tubing at Tussey Mountain between 10:00 pm-11:00 pm and enjoying some pizza in the lodge from 11:00 pm-11:30 pm. The cost for the event is $5 per person. Have a Heart Fundraiser and Awareness Banquet

Centre County Orphan Care Alliance exists to make believers aware of the plight of the fatherless locally and globally and to motivate every believer to engage in their responsibility to care for the fatherless. The Have a Heart Fundraiser and Awareness Banquet will be held Tuesday, February 18 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. Those who attend the event will learn about the state of Orphan Care in our county and beyond, and how our community can get involved in supporting foster, adoptive and biological families. New Adult Sunday School Class
February 2
"What We Believe" - Beginning Sunday, February 2, Pastor Dan will be teaching a Sunday school class for all adults called "What We Believe." This class will meet in the sanctuary from 10:00 am until 10:45 am on Sundays and will cover the basic teachings of our church and denomination. We will be looking at what the Bible says about itself and its authority; about who Jesus is and what He has done for us; about God's sovereignty over all of life, especially our salvation; about the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's supper; etc. This class will be especially helpful to those who are relatively new to Oakwood, but also as a "refresher course" for those who have been at Oakwood long-term. All are welcome!

Calling all Men! The first breakfast of the year is coming up soon on Saturday, February 29 at 8:00 am and what better way to celebrate leap day than enjoying food and fellowship with other men! - Contact Ann Johnstonbaugh at Maj03@hotmail.com to let her know your date, time and the ministry team that will be meeting. Ann will reply with availability and location for your meeting.
- One weeks notice is ideal as it would give the building team time to set the thermostats for your particular room location and make sure you have access to the building.
Would you like to request the use of Oakwood space for a non-Oakwood event?
- Contact Ann Johnstonbaugh at Maj03@hotmail.com to confirm date availability. If available, Ann will provide you with a building use application for you to fill out and submit to our Deacons for approval.
