A "reluctant hero" is a literary archetype.
The term refers to an ordinary person who finds him- or herself in extraordinary circumstances and rises to the occasion. Like the reluctant hero, Deliberate Creators under extraordinary circumstances often rise to the occasion by doing their self-work at a level they didn't know they were capable of.

Many of us find that our desire to feel good is intensified when we're in difficult situations, which could be during times of illness or divorce or job loss. That's because, when our contrast is in a heightened condition, we can't afford the "sloppy thinking" that we might be able to get away with under ordinary circumstances.

Inspiration often comes during extraordinary circumstances.
Whether the hero is slaying a dragon or rescuing a damsel, he finds strength when he needs it. Likewise, you go to your strength at times like these.

You do this by:
  • Focusing your energy
  • Applying these Abraham teachings, and
  • Relying on nonphysical resources to support you.
Of course, it isn't all a smooth ride.

Self-doubt typically shows up with a reluctant hero.
Like the hero, we also have moments when we second-guess ourselves. The problem is, self-doubt splits our energy. When we split our energy by doubting ourselves, the going gets rougher. And it happens very quickly.

That's because we have faster-moving energy when we're in the midst of extraordinary circumstances. But that fast-moving energy works in our favor, too. Because while, yes, it means the going can get rough very fast -- it also means that things get back on track very quickly when we realign.

When you get back on track, you'll be reminded that you're not alone.

A host of nonphysical guides stand ready to support you.
Circumstances have a way of falling into place to support the hero in a story, don't they? In the same way, you'll find loving nonphysical guides orchestrating circumstances to support you in living your life story.

You don't have to slay a dragon.
Our work, which is not always as easy as it sounds, is to feel good regardless of what's going on. When we keep accomplishing that, then solutions show up. In fact, in the manner of Abraham telling us to appreciate the contrast, you may find that the dragon you were trying to slay turns out not to be an enemy. Rather, having risen to the occasion during extraordinary circumstances, you may look back and see it as one of the best times of your life.

That's but one of the amazing things that will happen when you are the not-so-reluctant hero on your journey.

Until next week,
Teresa
