a belated (but heartfelt) welcome back!

Hi all--

With deadlines fast approaching for so many opportunities, I've gathered a quick list to make it easier for everyone. Top of the list: Applications now open for our COE Research Fellowships for summer 2020, fall 2020 and spring 2021. Did you know? Our summer fellowships carry a stipend of $4,400. If you're interested, please be sure to apply by February 17!

Below you'll also find info about our upcoming events (including one next week). Remember: The best way to stay in the loop about upcoming events and news is to connect with us on Facebook and Instagram!

In other coexist news: I just received our first batch of coexist laptop stickers (shown above). Stop by and say hi, if you'd like one! A new shipment of coexist t-shirts has just arrived, too, in sizes xs to xl.

See you juniors on Monday for lunch here at the COE. See you seniors for our upcoming senior colloquium lunch dates (all ENVS students are welcome!). And congratulations to all of you newly declared sophomore ENVS majors!

Enjoy your weekend!

The College of the Environment (COE) Research Fellowship Program allows students to undertake research on environmental topics under the guidance of a faculty mentor during summer or fall or spring semesters. The projects must relate to any of the broad themes covered by Environmental Studies and the College of the Environment. The scope of environmental topics is intended to be interpreted broadly; research may be undertaken using techniques, approaches, and paradigms from all majors or major programs. Summer fellowships carry a stipend of $4,400. Fall and spring semester research amounts vary. Fellowships are available to all Wesleyan students, regardless of class year or major and may be undertaken at Wesleyan or off-campus. Deadline for applications: February 17, 2020.

Friends Committee on National Legislation’s annual Spring Lobby Weekend
is coming up in March and this year the focus is climate change. Spring Lobby Weekend will be from March 28-March 31 this year and involves workshops, trainings, and speakers all centered around climate legislation and advocating for Congress to take action on climate change. On Tuesday, everyone will take what they’ve learned over the weekend and go to lobby their members of Congress on Capitol Hill. "This will be my third time attending Spring Lobby Weekend and every time I find it incredibly inspiring and empowering to be surrounded by so many young people taking action on important issues and leveraging out power as constituents to enact change," says Kate Sundberg '20. "I think it would be great to try to get a delegation from Wesleyan to attend Spring Lobby Weekend." Contact Kate Sundberg for more info!
