On this day 40 years ago, we started as the Center for Community Self-Help. Since then, with members and partners, we have spent every day fighting for greater economic opportunity. From our very first funding -- $77 raised in a raffle through a bake sale in New Bern, NC -- we have remained committed to helping families and entrepreneurs build wealth and financial security.
We'll be celebrating this anniversary all year long, as well as the legacies of the credit unions we've merged with along the way. To kick it off, our branches will host a Member Appreciation Day on Friday, February 14. Please stop by your nearest branch and enjoy a treat!
