Dear <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>
Please be informed that the Angolan Data Protection Agency ("DPA") approved by Presidential Decree 214/16, of 10 October 2016, has recently initiated its activities.
All public and private entities operating in Angola that collect personal data, namely in respect of employees, (e.g. for the purpose of processing salaries), clients and suppliers, must now comply with the Angolan Data Protection Law (Law 22/11, of 17 June 2011), and submit the relevant notifications or authorization applications for data processing, using for such purpose the official form available at the DPA.
The DPA may impose fines between USD 75,000 to USD 130,000 related, amongst other misdemeanours, with the lack of submission of notification or authorization applications. Any DPA inspections and fines may also be triggered as a result of complaints received by the DPA.
In case you require any further assistance, namely English version of the DPA notification form, please send us your request directly to mcjurist@mcjurist.com
Kind regards
