2019 - Thank You!

Together, we had a busy 2019!

We held over 30 Saturday markets, with 10 incredible night markets and 24 food markets at the University of Manchester.

Over 360 of you joined us, with the majority of you setting up at multiple markets throughout the year, which we and our customers absolutely loved.

We partnered with a number of charities and community groups, such as homelessness charity Mustard Tree, RSPB, Levenshulme Climate Action group and many more.

We had over 35,000 people interact with us on Twitter, and featured on the likes of BBC Radio 4 and the MEN. We were shortlisted for Best Shop or Market  in the BBC Food & Farming awards, and participated in Levenshulme’s bid to be named The Great Neighbourhood 2019.

Whilst we had a lot of fun, 2019 also had its challenges. We were forced to cancel three markets due to bad weather, which had an impact on you the traders, the market and Levy residents. We’re certainly hoping 2020 has better weather in store for us all!

Throughout all the highs and lows of 2019, you guys were there, come rain or shine, serving up incredible food, producing and selling fabulous produce and crafts, and supporting the market every step of the way. We want to say a big thank you to all of you for your hard work, dedication and support. We can’t wait to see you all again in 2020!

We’re an NABMA Award Winner

We’ve got some great news to kick off 2020. Yesterday we won Best Small Outdoor Market at the National Association of British Markets Awards. The judges commented: 'This is a market that has changed the dynamics of an area, and its environment, by creating a vibrant community hub. It represents a real team effort.' We agree - we’re over the moon and want to say that we would never have won without you, our talented traders. Another big thank you from us! This is great recognition for all the hard work everyone puts in. Go team!

Our Next Trader Forum – April / May 2020

Our trader forum in October 2019 was a brilliant event, with over 25 traders attending and giving feedback to our team on the way the market is run, their personal experiences and suggestions for the future.

As a market team we found your feedback invaluable, and following on from that we wanted to check back in with you to share some of the messages we took away, as well as updating you on our plans for 2020 and give you an opportunity to tell us what you think, and what you’d like to see done differently in the future.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be sending out a save the date email, and following on from that an Eventbrite invitation to RSVP to, with all the details of our next trader event.

We’d love to see as many of you there as possible!
