Update: Calling Process
At the Congregational Meeting of 24 November 2019, the Congregation voted overwhelmingly in favour of calling Gawie Cloete to become our new Minister. Session met on 25 November 2019, and after discussing the concerns voiced by some members of the Congregation, unanimously decided to call Gawie. A Letter of Call was sent to Gawie, and he responded that they consider the call favourably, but that he would like to sit the colloquium doctum* before resigning his present position. (*Gawie is not an ordained minister of our denomination, and before he can be installed as our Minister, he would have to be examined by Classis Queensland). Session is of the view that given Gawie’s background in Reformed theology, this should not be too much of a hurdle.
Gawie will undergo the required examination on Saturday 1 February 2020. Session asks the Congregation to continue praying that the Lord’s will be done, and that He will control the outcome of Gawie’s examination, to the benefit of His glory.
Position available at Mansfield CRC: Youth Coordinator
Due to personal circumstances, Ethan O’Donnell will no longer be available to fill the role of Youth Coordinator. Mansfield CRC is therefore seeking to fill this position for 2020.
The purpose of this role is to coordinate the Youth Work at MCRC and to coordinate different congregational events as per the MCRC Calendar.
The position will be 8 hours per fortnight, worked as flexible hours.

Sunday School Teachers Needed for 2020

MCRC Family Camp: 2-4 May 2020 Save the date!
The MCRC Family Camp is coming up over the long weekend in May (2-4 May). We will be going to the usual venue in Mount Tamborine (Mount Tamborine Conference Centre, 237 Beacon Road, North Tamborine). As always, it will be a fun weekend spent with your church family and a wonderful opportunity to build friendships while growing together as a church. All are welcome to attend! More details (pricing etc.) will follow closer to the date.
Units available in Wishart Christian Village
Wishart Christian Village is an independent living Christian Retirement Village well located within the local Wishart area. It is well served by public transport and is close to both Garden City and Carindale Shopping Centres, as well as having easy access to the M1 and M3 freeways.
From time to time, units become available for residency for Christian singles and/or couples, and we currently have 2 vacancies within the Village.
Both of the vacant units are 2-bedroom independent living units which have been reinstated and are ready for occupancy.

Please use the calendar to check if a facility (Church Hall, Church Building, Manse, or Manse Conference Room) is available before making plans to use it, and please make the necessary booking to use the facility by sending an email to admin@mansfield-crc.com.
