INTRICACIES
" Catch a glimpse of a shadow or silhouette of something and we can instantly recognize the object. But when confronted with just the texture or minute detail of an item we are often at a loss to identify it.
It is these overlooked and often microscopic details which intrigue me. Some of the smallest organisms are so delicate, elaborate and beautiful and surround us in every aspect of daily life and it seems a shame that such diverse and fascinating forms go unnoticed.
For this body of work I have been inspired by Ernst Haeckel’s book, ‘Art Forms In Nature” and have manipulated porcelain forms to bring some of these intricacies to life." Jane Burbidge

BOOKS
"Last year we made books. Meeting once a month, we experimented with dyeing paper and cloth to create the ingredients for our books. We used coffee, tea, onion water, eucalyptus leaves, paints and silk dyes as well as some printing. In between we played with stitching things together and making a variety of books, bookmarks and cards.
We want to create a space to sit and enjoy our love of books".
