January Update from AAA Play
2020 is here, bringing with it new challenges but also exciting new opportunities.
AAA Play is deeply saddened by the devastating fires over the summer. Our thoughts are with those in our community and in the community more broadly who have been affected by the severe bushfires this season. We need new ways to be prepared and stay safe, as well as ways of dealing with the aftermath. See below for a link to a comprehensive list of resources for people with disability who have been affected, or are at risk of being affected by the fires, by Disability Services Consulting.
Amongst the devastation there has also been hope and courage, shown by the volunteers and generosity of the community. We come together at this time and stand united in our commitment to support those affected in any way we can.
Sport can be a great distraction in such times of stress and anxiety, allowing us to get out of our heads and into our bodies. If you are ready to get active or give it a go, see some of the opportunities available below, and at our website here.

In the Spotlight
Looking forward: Victorian Parks TrailRider Program 2020
Victoria's national parks are now more accessible than ever.
Growing scientific evidence and generations of traditional knowledge show that spending time in nature is good for our mind, body, and soul. The Grampians and Dandenong National Park Rangers are helping everyone experience these benefits by assisting visitors with an all-terrain wheelchair known as a TrailRider on various trails around the parks on specific dates.
Allowing visitors to access more rugged trails not accessible with conventional wheelchairs, with a variety of routes available, users can experience Victoria's parks like never before.
See more information and the 2020 calendar of events here.

Our Ambassadors are always amazing us with the number of sports and events they all compete in. This summer, our newest Ambassador, Tony Langdon, was no exception.
Suffering an injury at the beginning of the year, he managed it well and was able to recover in time for the Victorian Country Athletics Championships. He then competed in 10 events over the Australia Day long weekend, and medalled in 7 of them! Congratulations Tony!!
