CATHAY PACIFIC/HSBC HONG KONG SEVENS RESCHEDULED TO OCTOBER 2020
The Hong Kong Rugby Union and World Rugby today announced the rescheduling of the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens. The tournament, originally on 3-5 April, will now be played at the Hong Kong Stadium from 16-18 October, 2020.

HISTORICAL DOUBLE FOR HKFC
It took 93 minutes and the boot of Glyn Hughes to seal the first Saxo Markets Grand Championship for Natixis HKFC.
PERFECT SEASON FOR VALLEY BLACK LADIES
A dominating first half saw Societe Generale Valley Black Ladies too much for Borrelli Walsh USRC Tigers, running out 36-15 winners at the KPMG Grand Championship Finals. This concludes another fantastic season for the infamous “Red and Black Rugby Machine”, with a League and Grand Championship double and a 100% win rate! In the Women’s Premiership A Final, Kerry Hotel Kowloon Rugby were victorious over SCAA Causeway Bay Phoenix, in a tight game that finished 12-7.

A REPEAT OF A DIFFERENT KIND
It was groundhog day down at Sports Road for the Saxo Markets Grand Championship semi-finals…although without the actual groundhog, or anyone else for that matter as the game took place “behind closed doors” in support of the Novel Coronavirus containment measures! It was a repeat of last year’s match-ups, however, with very different results, as both Societe Generale Valley and Natixis HKFC took their revenge and defeated Bloomberg HK Scottish and Herbert Smith Freehills HKU Sandy Bay respectively to book their places in the Final.

VALLEY SECURE SPOT IN GRAND FINAL
The third game at HKFC on 1st February, saw Societe Generale Valley Black ladies defeating Natixis HKFC Ice 46-0, setting up a Grand Championship rematch with Borrelli Walsh USRC Tigers at King’s Park the following week.

HONG KONG TRAVEL TO SOUTH AMERCIA TO FACE NEW CHALLENGES
The Hong Kong Men’s Sevens team are away in South America over the next two weeks to compete in the new World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series, to be held in Chile and Uruguay respectively. A total of 13 teams will battle it out for a coveted slot in the World Rugby Sevens Series.
