Thanks to our supporters, the Hong Kong Holocaust and Tolerance Centre (HKHTC) has had a very successful start to 2020. In January HKHTC hosted Auschwitz survivor, acclaimed author, peace activist and stepsister posthumously of Anne Frank, Ms Eva Schloss, for a visit to Hong Kong and Macau. Eva's visit was an excellent platform for HKHTC to further advance its mission of Holocaust and tolerance education among a wide cross-section of the community.
Key Highlights of Eva Schloss's Visit
Eva directly shared her incredible story of survival with over 5,000 people, comprised mostly of students in Hong Kong and Macau
Eva was the keynote speaker at the United Nations Holocaust Memorial Day ("UNHMD") commemorationhosted by HKHTC at Hong Kong City Hall Theatre -- the commemoration marked the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with Eva making an unforgettable impression on all who heard her story
HKHTC also gives special thanks to Cathay Pacific for once again being the official airline sponsor of the annual UNHMD commemoration. We also greatly appreciate the excellent assistance provided by the Consulate General of Israel in Hong Kong & Macau in connection with the event.
