We were so glad to welcome over 60 educators, parents and nonprofit leaders to our second annual conference, “Breathing is Just the Beginning". We gathered recently to talk about helping kids apply mindfulness to life’s challenges, to practice educator self-care, and to build mindful and inclusive school communities. If you couldn’t make it, we’re so glad to share highlights. Listen especially for what the kids have to say.

In the News:

Check out the latest article from Edutopia to feature our founder Linda Ryden: “A lot of mindfulness practice isn’t about calming down,” says Ryden. “It can be applied to life’s challenges in so many ways. The goal shouldn’t be: ‘These kids are out of control, let’s get mindfulness in here.' Rather, it should help you understand yourself better, how you think about things, and eventually, help make the world a better place.”

In our new Peace of Mind Curriculum for Grades 4 and 5, we focus on helping older elementary students apply mindfulness to life’s challenges. The first step on this path is helping our students learn to notice what’s happening in their bodies.  Click here for a sample lesson built around the mindfulness practice of “See Hear Feel”.
