1. West Parkland preview - Snap Sprint Series Friday 14 February
Wow, 91 people came out to Adelaide Uni last week. Let's see if we can top that this Friday 14th at West Parklands! Bring your date for a romantic Valentine's day stroll around the Wirraninthi interpretive trail, looking for Silvio Apponyi's sculptures. Or bring just yourself to enjoy Simon Uppill's excellent courses: long course 3.7km (approx. actual running distance), short course 2.9km. Easy 1.6km course available, crosses no roads.

Signs on Sir Don Bradman Drive between West Terrace and the railway line (parking available on both sides of the road; take care when crossing) with assembly on the north side of Sir Don Bradman Drive, by the stone wurlies. Do not go to Adelaide High itself as parking there is limited due to roadworks.

So enter NOW for the West Parklands event: https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/9301
Pre-enter and pay online by midnight Wed 12th Feb to guarantee a pre-marked map. Entry and payment on the day is also possible but we will be short-staffed on registration, so pre-entry is appreciated. Register from 6pm, starts 6:30-7pm, courses close 8pm. Sweet treats for all finishers :)

The final race in the Snap Sprint series, sponsored by Snap Printing and hosted as a fundraiser by the Southern Arrows, South Australia’s elite orienteering squad, will be on Friday February 21st, at Stirling; https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/9302 on a new map made by Angus Haines. (Note that this is to be entered separately from the Sprint Camp weekend.)

2. Adelaide Sprint Training and Event Weekend – Fri 21st to Sun 23rd Feb

Three races including the last event of the Snap Sprint Series on a new map at Stirling, a Saturday evening race at Semaphore Park, ending with a Knockout Sprint at Trinity College. Plus some morning training activities.

All events are listed in Eventor  – and you can download a Bulletin from any event e.g.

https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/9438

Pre-entry is preferred.

3. Registered for Sprint Camp?
Have you registered for the Adelaide Sprint Camp yet? Less than two weeks to go with entries closing this Friday. This is a weekend you don't wanna miss! The weekend will consist of several trainings and races, but if it looks like too much you can sign up for whichever part you want. The highlight of the weekend will be the knock-out event on Sunday at Trinity College!

If you are participating in all events, don't forget to also register for the Stirling Snap Series event as it is part of the weekend and will be included in the final results.

Another awesome feature of the weekend is that all of the races will use SI Air! Don't worry if you don't have one as there will be complimentary SI Air available. So come experience the excitement it has to offer.

This event is great for any elite runners looking for extra sprint training but is not restricted to elites. Anyone of any age who is interested should sign up because there are three different age categories for prizes! (juniors, elites, & open)

The final bulletin and a detailed schedule will be out shortly, so stay tuned!

4. Course Planning Workshop – Saturday Feb 29th
A full day workshop is scheduled for Saturday Feb 29th at 132 Rose Tc, Wayville.
The topics will include all course formats and the different levels of navigational difficulty, what makes good courses and what to avoid.
This will also include some event organization aspects, and requirements for L1 Controller – so can be used as a basis to move to L2 controller (workshop planned in the next 12 months).

More details to be added to the event listing here where you can enter as an attendee: https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/9642
