If you use Grosse Avenue for drop off or pick up, pack some extra patience this week and consider an alternate route.  Paving work will close sections of Grosse Avenue, including the intersection with El Camino.  Anticipate delays due to (additional) traffic controls, no parking and tow away zones during active paving work.   

Consider parking on an alternate block and walking - at least the weather is nice!

We enjoyed extending the Kindness Challenge into our Kindness Festival on Sunday.  Thank you to all the volunteers who put the event together, attendees and a special thank you to Cookie Take a Bite for sponsoring our (deliciously sticky) cookie decoration station and The Tamale Factory for serving up amazing tamales!

Do you enjoy networking with other families and encouraging a connection to our school? Consider being our PTA President (or Co-President with a friend!).  Key responsibilities:

• Facilitating monthly meetings, including setting the agenda and leading the meeting
• Review committee reports and meeting minutes
• Liaison to principal, to exchange information on PTA and school activities (on site preferred)
• Promote outreach, inclusion and diversity to connect families, schools and community
• Time Commitment:  Average 2 hours per week + monthly PTA meeting (2 hours, plus 1-2 hours prep)

9am - 11:30am!

We will sheet mulch and weed the area between the new bathrooms and bike rack and begin the process of transforming this area from a weedy eye-sore into a habitat garden.  Learn more about the project.

ASK:  Bring your large cardboard boxes to school to use in sheet mulching to suppress weeds.  Remove tape and plastic and bring large, flattened boxes to the garden (under the eaves, near the back gate).
