Focussing inward during Wellbeing Week at Blackheath High School
As part of Wellbeing Week here at Blackheath High School, a couple of special events were put together to help encourage our girls to look inward and focus on their own (and other's) wellbeing.
This week in STEAM club the girls embarked on a plastic challenge. We started off by discussing how much waste each household produced and how much of that waste is actually recyclable.

Head Girl Team Blog: Valentine's Day For centuries, the name of Valentine has been associated with love. In the fourteenth century, Chaucer referred to “seynt Volantynys day”, William Shakespeare and John Donne wrote in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century about Valentine as a symbol of love, and the practice of sending Valentine’s cards to a loved one was already widespread in early Victorian England.
To celebrate our school’s incredible 140th Anniversary, we want to continue with our giving and open spirit and focus our energies on working towards a sustainable environment, an area we know our students feel passionate about.
We will focus our year-long celebration in 2020 on showing appreciation for our beautiful environment and local community, with a sustainability project: ‘BHS Year of Promise’.
