Dave's Corner 💭

That was quite the snowstorm last week. I heard from several people that they were upset that the snow plows did not make it to their side street in Burlington for as long as two days after the snow started. And I think they were right, because I saw a couple streets like that myself.

The plow drivers have a really tough job, so I sympathize with them. That said, their management needs to ensure that plows make it to every single street in Burlington in a timely manner. If we don't have enough plows, we should spend money buying more, instead of redoing parks that don't need to be redone. It's a safety issue. If a person needs to get to the hospital and their street isn't cleared in a reasonable amount of time, I can only think the department of public works will receive a well deserved lawsuit.

Random Burlingtonian Quote of the Day 📝

Reason spoiled, marred, or robbed of its perfection, ceaseth to be rational, and should not be called reason; inasmuch as it is premised to be depraved, or degenerated from a rational nature; and in consequence of the deprivation of its nature, should also be deprived of its name, and called subterfuge, or some such like name, which might better define its real character. Those who invalidate reason, ought seriously to consider, "whether they argue against reason, with or without reason; if with reason, then they establish the principle, that they are laboring to dethrone;" but if they argue without reason, (which, in order to be consistent with themselves, they must do,) they are out of the reach of rational conviction, nor do they deserve a rational argument.
