GRADING DAY - SUNDAY 16TH FEBRUARY

After the deluge of last Sunday, it was probably for the best that we didn't proceed with grading!

We plan on holding a full grading day on Sunday 16th February on the main field at Asquith Boys High School. Please make every effort to attend. Details are in the email below. We are also hoping to use our backup day of Sunday 23rd February as our second grading day however times and location are still to be confirmed.

Please remember that Early Bird Registration prices END THIS FRIDAY (14th FEB). If you haven't yet registered, and plan on playing in 2020 please do so as soon as possible as we are starting to form teams and it helps if we have a clear idea on numbers. If you have someone who you think might be interested in playing as well make sure you forward this email on!

Information on how to register is provided below but if you are having any issues or questions regarding registrations then please contact the age coordinators listed on the Normo Eagles Website or the through enquiries@normoeagles.com.au

There will be plenty of opportunities to purchase gear before the start of the season and a full Normo kit isn't required either for grading or for the trial games.

We will attempt to keep both the website and facebook page updated with the latest information. If you haven't already - please head over and follow the Normanhurst Eagles Football Club Facebook page to keep on top of all the latest club information.

Important Notes Regarding Grading:
  • Players must be registered in order to be graded.
  • Please ensure you attend the grading days for your actual age E.g. If you are turning (or have turned) 10 this year, your actual age is Under 10. You are also welcome to request to grade in an older age group once your age group grading has been completed.  Please contact your age coordinator if you are interested in playing up an age group.
  • Please ensure you arrive 15 minutes prior to your age groups times lot and make sure you have a water bottle and sunscreen applied. Shin pads and trainers only to be worn (No Football boots).
  • Each age-group will have multiple graders who have been sourced from age groups other than that of their own child and are experienced coaches, or are T3 coaches. The graders will not be coaching any children during the session and will be concentrating on assessing the children correctly. Coaches comments and feedback from 2019 will be taken into consideration. In order to allow the graders to asses all players fairly we ask that parents remain away from the field of play.
  • U8: The U8 competition is not graded in the NWSF competition, however each year we provide for one U8 Blue Side to play against similarly skilled sides in the competition. U8 players can try out for our Blue team, however grading for U8 players is not compulsory. A team will only be placed in this competition if there are enough players to make a competitive side.
  • U15-U16: Grading for the U15 and U16  age groups will be dependent upon the number of registered players and whether we will be forming more than one team in each age group. This will be advised closer to the date of grading.
  • For further information and the NEFC Grading Policy about how players are allocated to graded teams see here.
  • If you cannot attend grading, please ensure you have let the age coordinator know. Contact details re on the Normo Eagles Website.

Team Lists: Teams lists will be circulated for U6-U8s at the Mini Allocation Day on the 23rd February and and shortly after the final grading day for the U9s and above.

Coaches and Managers: If you are keen to coach or manage a side this year, please let an age co-ordinator know. Help is always appreciated!

Training and Grounds: After teams have been formed we will advise on the process for nominating for training times. We aim to make the process as fair as possible, however we won't be able to guarantee that all teams get their preferred time. Normanhurst oval on Tuesday evening is particularly busy and so preference is given to teams using T3. Training generally runs for one hour per week, arranged in consultation with your coach, and based on ground availability.  Subject to ground availability, some teams may train twice a week.

Closer to the start of the season, an information sheet will be circulated with more information about the season ahead.
