Meet the 2020 Mentors!

Jill Adams 

VP of Marketing
QDOBA

Since joining QDOBA in April 2017, Adams has played a fundamental role in developing consistent branding, stabilizing the app and website, optimizing paid media practices and creating a pipeline of product innovation. She was also heavily involved in the sale of QDOBA to its current owners, Apollo Global Management Group and manages communications, marketing technology, and creative strategy. 

Adams received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Business Administration degree from California State University, Sacramento.

Jennifer Bower

VP of Stadium Partnerships
Legends


Jennifer completed a sports marketing internship with the SDSU Athletic Department before continuing her sports marketing career with over a decade at the San Diego Chargers, with a variety of roles including Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships which she headed up the corporate partnerships fulfillment department. 
Jennifer was presented with the opportunity to come back to SDSU and work at her alma mater as the Director of Marketing Partnerships for Fox Sports College Properties where she worked from 2017-2019. She was responsible for driving revenue for Fox and SDSU while coming up with innovative and unique marketing partnerships with local and national brands. She was promoted to Senior Director of Marketing Partnerships in 2018.

Jennifer was most recently awarded the role of Vice President of Stadium Partnerships with Legends/JMI sports. Her primary focus is aligning brands with naming rights opportunities and founding partnerships for the new Aztec Stadium set to be completed in 2022.

Stef Ewing 

Head Coach, Softball
CSU San Marcos


 Ewing was a former NCAA DI softball player for Oregon State that helped her team advanced to the Women's College World Series for the first time in program history. She was a member of the Greek National Team at just 16 years old. Most recently, Stef spent three years as the assistant coach at NCAA DI New Mexico State before being named Head Coach at CSUSM in August 2018 as the fourth head coach in program history. 
 

Andrea Leonard

Head Coach, Volleyball & Sr. Woman Administrator
CSU San Marcos


Former NCAA DII Volleyball player at Northern Michigan University, Leonard started her coaching career in 1992.  Most recently, she was the head coach at Boston College from 2003-2008 and has been with CSUSM since. She was appointed Senior Woman Administrator of our department in fall 2018 and attends several NCAA conventions across the country as the representative for Cal State San Marcos Athletics.

 

Andrea St. Urbain 

Owner
Premium Sports Consulting


Experienced and proven sports business professional turned freelance consultant, St. Urbain turned her passion for helping others achieve their goals in business and life into starting Premium Sports Consulting last year.  

Previously, she spent time as Manager of Partnerships and Suite Services for the San Diego Padres and Manager of Client Services for the Los Angeles Sparks before becoming Senior Director of Premium Services at AEG.

Wayne Partello 

SVP, Chief Marketing Officer
San Diego Padres

Partello joined the Padres in October 2013 and oversees all aspects of the Padres marketing and communications platforms encompassed by the following departments: marketing, creative services, communications, entertainment & production, broadcasting and content.

Partello joined the Padres after four years with the Miami Dolphins where he was responsible for a wide footprint of marketing and media areas, including but not limited to the development and oversight of The Finsiders (the Dolphins' integrated media arm), the team's advertising and creative efforts and the organization's game day entertainment experience.

Tania Hurt 

VP of Finance
Sony Electronics

Hurt is a finance professional with 30 years of accounting and financial planning and analysis experience. She is responsible to deliver the financial accounting transactions and reporting for Sony North America under the umbrella of a Global Process Model which spans across multiple regions and time zones.  An active leader supporting the creation of an inclusive work environment, best place to work and ways to recognize and value the leadership and contribution women bring to the workplace.

Shaka Johnson 

CP & Associate General Counsel
Sony Electronics

Shaka Johnson currently leads the legal department at Sony Electronics Inc. as Vice President & Associate General Counsel. As the head of the department, Shaka and his team are responsible for all traditional legal affairs for the business in North
America.

Shaka was previously with Sony Electronics (2011 – 2015), and led a variety of corporate, sales, post-sales, and ecommerce related matters. Immediately prior to his current role at Sony, Shaka spent 3 years as an Associate General Counsel leading the global Sales and Marketing legal team for Facebook’s AR/VR group, including Oculus VR, covering retail and ecommerce, marketing, enterprise, and other consumer facing matters.
