Gadbrook Park Entrance Update

Work is going to begin on the 24th of February at the earliest.
The works at the beginning of the programme will be undertaken off-peak under lane closures, and at evenings.
It is not expected that the early works to cause any disruption to the Business Park.

Scottish Power have been diverting a 33kV cable on the SE corner of the junction, but this work has been under an off-peak lane closure so hopefully has not caused any major disruption.
Once there is a plan for the works businesses will be updated.
BLUE ORCHID GRANTS FOR BUSINESSES

Blue Orchid has got a grant available that really may be of use to businesses on Gadbrook Park.

This programme offers businesses a free energy and efficiency audit and report and then a grant to help businesses purchase capital items to help reduce their energy bills/ running costs.  Grants are available between £2000 and £20,000 and can be used against a variety of spend including:

  • LED lighting
  • Lighting Controls
  • Boilers/Heating plant
  • Heating / Cooling controls
  • Replacement boilers
  • Specialist equipment (e.g. compressors or manufacturing equipment)
  • More efficient refrigeration equipment
  • Heat recovery systems
  • Insulation – loft, wall, pipework
  • Window coating
  • Solar installations (providing no feed-in-tariffs are claimed)
  • Environmental Resource mgt. systems integration

Blue Orchid can cover 40% of the costs of anything your're looking to spend related to these types of services/ products so it’s worth asking if planned purchases aren’t mentioned above and Blue Orchid will see if they can fund that too! Sir John Deane's College Apprenticeship Opportunities

Sir John Deane's Sixth Form College are keen to work with businesses on Gadbrook Park to promote your apprenticeship opportunities and careers information about your sector.  This can either be through careers talks and workshops, resources and information or by attendance at their careers fair in June.

Sir John Deane's Sixth Form College would also like to invite you to participate in a mock interview day at the college on Thursday 5th March. This will entail a series of half hour interviews with year 13 students from 9.30 am until approx. 2.30pm. You can attend all or part of the day.

This is an opportunity for students, who are not applying to university and are considering the apprenticeship route to gain some real interview practice to help with their job searching and applications. Your help will be invaluable and much appreciated.

Please let Amy Heald from Sir John Deane’s know if you are able to help with the mock interview day or any other activities on either 01606 810020 or by emailing heald_a@sjd.ac.uk

Howard Worth Budget Breakfast Event
Tuesday 24th March
Free to attend
7.45am to 9.45am
Macdonald Portal Hotel, Cobblers Cross Lane, Tarporley, CW6 0DJ.

After the December general election result and the country entering 2020 with government formed by the Conservatives with a majority in parliament, Boris Johnson will be pushing forward with the UK’s withdrawal from the EU and negotiating new trade agreements in the months ahead.

The first budget of this new parliament will take place on 11th March and is set to be one of the most anticipated in years by business and individuals alike. Could 2020 signal the end of austerity and the start of more spending? What will the implication of any tax changes be? And of course – the impact of Brexit – which is still unknown.

Join us for a Budget Breakfast on Tuesday 24th March at The Macdonald Portal Hotel, where experts from our Tax, Farming and Financial Services teams will guide you through the budget’s key announcements and their possible impact on business, giving their commentary, advice and the planning options available.

We are delighted to welcome Karolina Noculak from Standard Life as a speaker. She will cover the Financial Markets and give commentary on both the global and UK economies.
