I wrote The History of Taking Children Seriously. TCS is a parenting and education philosophy which says children can be raised without doing anything to them against their will, and that children can think and merit full human rights. It applies rational philosophy (Critical Rationalism) and (classical) liberal values (like freedom) to parenting and education. TCS is important because all the currently existing alternative viewpoints involve punishment, are authoritarian, use non-truth-seeking ways of resolving disagreements between parent and child or teacher and child, or do something else cruel or irrational.

Video: Blog Review: Discussion Tips (51:09). I cover four blog posts.

My blog post Limits of Statistics shares some thoughts related to epistemology. It’s meant more as a discussion starter than a complete guide.

Some people seem to think Fallible Ideas is important enough to spend their time attacking it (persistently for years). They mostly confine themselves to gossip, slander and lies, but hatred encourages hateful actions. In recent months, there’s been online harassment targeting four FI members and several laws have been broken. Gory details. (More on the haters, and I’ve developed a new policy of sometimes asking problematic anonymous posters to identify themselves.)

I’m enjoying reading This. Isn’t. Sparta.. It’s a historian helping educate the public.

Alan Forrester (a physicist, Critical Rationalist, and 20-year FI participant) wrote Ruffalo on Szasz and civil commitment. A recent article lies about what Szasz said in an old interview. Szasz is the best author on psychiatry and has stood up for individual rights and freedom. Here’s a brief summary of Szasz by Szasz.

Alan Forrester wrote Steele on Szasz which criticizes more bad thinking related to Szasz.

Alan Forrester wrote Against “The Righteous Mind” about the Jonathan Haidt book.

Objectivist and economist George Reisman wrote Bernie Sanders on Socialized Medicine.

I considered how numbers in 1/n fractional bases work. I also considered counting up and down in balanced base 3.

What did I think about government a year after joining the TCS community and discussing with David Deutsch?
