For those of you based in Ottawa, here is an opportunity to support a grandparent from near Peterborough who is protesting inadequate government action on climate by sitting on Parliament Hill and trying to engage with passers by, especially Members of Parliament. He's been there every day that parliament is in session. He intends to stay. As he says, if Greta Thunberg, age 16, can do it, so can John O'Brien, age 61.

We will also be showing our support for Ann Cognito who walked to Ottawa from Alberta during the summer with her dog, Mr. Myrtle Sir and has been camping, that's right camping in a tent, on Parliament Hill all winter. 

A few of us from Peterborough are coming at noon next Friday, February 21, to join them and hold a public display. We would love to have support from Ottawa locals. We are hoping to join our voices to the Fridays for Future students.

Our particular message on that day will be to oppose approval of the Teck Frontier mine. I hope we are not too late.
