MESSAGE FROM THE SENIOR PASTOR
|
|
Last week we launched a new series exploring a set of five values that we are adopting as a community of faith. All five of these values are expressions of our purpose to take up the invitation of God to participate in his renewing work. On Sunday I briefly introduced all five of them and their relationship to our discipleship. (Remember, you can catch this sermon on GBC Sermons podcast.)

This Sunday we’ll start our week-by-week deeper dive into each of the values beginning with On-Purpose: creating and maintaining margin in our lives to participate with God.
The principle is simple. If we are going to join in with what God is doing around us we need to have space in our lives to both hear his invitation and to respond. Our lives tend to be so full and so busy that all our margin is eaten up by the urgent. One solution is to be more deliberate, proactive, and intentional with our time and resources. This will be our focus on Sunday.
How do we do this as individuals and a community of faith who are committed to participating with God? It’s a big question, but one that is too important to avoid.
See you Sunday.

Pathways is back for the new year!
Pathways is a four-week course which will be held at 10:30am (one hour) over four consecutive Sundays (8 March - 29 March) to help those who are new to GBC find their place in God's mission here.
Pathways explores: Who we are; Where we believe God is leading us; What we are doing to get there; and How you can get involved. It's a space for you to ask questions, meet others who are new to our community of faith, and begin to form some lasting friendships. Pathways will take place during our 10:30am Service so if you're coming in the morning with young children, they'll have the opportunity to enjoy our Kidzone program while you attend.
To register for the next Pathways four-week course (8/3, 15/3, 22/3, 29/3) go to GBC Links or register via email.
