JePPIX partner VLC Photonics is proud to announce that it has been ISO 9001 Certified as part of its commitment to provide photonic integration services with the highest quality standards.

Iñigo Artundo, CEO of the company, explains: “We are fully committed to meet and exceed customer expectations. For this reason, quality is considered a core part of our business and a priority in each one of the services provided by VLC Photonics.”

This international Certification recognizes the effort and dedication of the VLC Photonics team to offer effective responses to the needs of its customers, following the highest standards, and reaffirming its determined orientation towards business excellence.

The ISO 9001 certification of VLC Photonics is a great step within the JePPIX consortium in committing to the highest quality standards for our customers. Something we are committed to and working on in our Pilot Line efforts as well.

Meet JePPIX at OFC2020

JePPIX is looking forward to the next big event of the year: OFC2020. The JePPIX Pilot Line will be present at the exhibition to talk to you about possibilities for scaling up from prototyping to pre-production. Meet us at booth 1948 to discuss your application ideas.

Besides the exhibition, several representatives from JePPIX partners will be giving presentations in different parts of the conference: Also make sure to meet us, many of our partners, and many other photonics experts at the EPIC VIP Networking Reception on 11 March from 18.00 to 22.00.

Meet our partners at the exhibition:

European pilot line PIXAPP, in which several of our partners are involved, will be at the OFC exhibition at booth 1948 as well. They can tell you all about PIC packaging, so make sure to discuss your packaging needs with them. Besides being present at the exhibition, PIXAPP sponsors the OIDA workshop on Embedded Photonic Manufacturing for Data Centers, where new business and technology trends for manufacturing embedded photonic devices will be discussed. Check the program here.

OFC2020 will continue as planned. For any questions or concerns about OFC2020 and the Corona virus, please see this FAQ set up by the conference and read about the health and safety measures being taken by OFC management.

Lab Automation Hackathon at OFC2020

Make sure to check out the OFC Lab Automation Hackathon!
When: Sunday, 8 March, 20:00 - 22:00
Where: Room 17
Why: A hackathon for lab automation and PIC design using the Python programming language will be organized during OFC2020. Nazca-Design is once again a part of this Hackathon. This year the Nazca team will show parametric curves and RF-lines interconnect functionality for efficient PIC routing, together with the DRC checks for symmetry integrity to assist the designers. Visit the website and download your Nazca copy.
What's more: if you create the design that performs best, you can win space on SMART Photonics' upcoming MPW run!

Announcing the next JePPIX PIC Design course

From 26 October to 6 November 2020, JePPIX is organizing the next edition of its PIC Design Course at Eindhoven University of Technology! We are working hard on the program and expect to be opening up registrations within the coming few months.

Keep an eye on our newsletter, website and social media channels to make sure you don't miss the registration opening.

General information about our training scheme can be found here.

Looking back on Photonics West 2020

The JePPIX Pilot Line attended Photonics West from 4-6 February in San Francisco. It was a great opportunity to meet some of the over 20.000 participants involved in many application fields from telecommunication to sensing.

Together with other European Pilot Lines, the JePPIX Pilot Line presented itself at a booth in a combined effort to introduce new photonic products to markets such as telecommunications, medical and security. The pilot line was also represented at the executive Pilot Lines breakfast organized by EPIC.

Synopsys online Professional Workshop on PICs

Synopsys is hosting an online Professional Workshop on April 3, 2020. The workshop will provide a detailed introduction to PIC technology for datacom applications using the Synopsys PIC Design Suite to design and simulate a four-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM4) transceiver. Any engineer, designer, project leader, R&D manager or scientist interested in learning how to use Synopsys' PIC tools for circuit design and simulation, and layout generation and verification is encouraged to join! Details and registration can be found here.
