Hi <<First Name>>,
We hope you have had a chance to do Julie's Awareness Through Movement® lesson: A Beginner's Lesson (click now to review). The team reflections are now available. (see more, below).
About the Self-image. Dr. Feldenkrais often referred to the self-image, but he defined it in a very different way than most; he also used it interchangably with "body image". The psychological definition that is common (see wikipedia) refers to a kind of a mental picture. Dr. Feldenkrais expanded this concept substantially to include "speaking, walking, and carriage". (click to read more ) With the Feldenkrais Method, we seek to clarify our self-image, all the while recognizing that our self-image is plastic, changeable. Discover the expanding clarity of your self-image this lesson bring you. And notice how your self-images changes over the hours and days after the lesson.
The team reflects on the significant changes they felt after the lesson, and how Julie's teaching was very integrating of all the senses and that this deepens the impact of the lesson. At the end, Julie comments on the apparent paradox that on the one hand we are always about clarifying the self-image while our self-image is simultaneously plastic. Click here to watch it..
