  CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

Elio Camacho

Elio is a nationally known colorist who teaches oil and acrylic painting across the United States. Using engaging demos in his still life workshops, he stresses design and color theory in conveying emotion and effective composition. His technique incorporates an ala prima approach to mixing color on the canvas as well as the palette. He reveals how warm and cool colors, value and transparency control composition, depth and focal points in a painting. “As a painting instructor, my mission is to provide students with the foundation necessary to be creative. My goal is to assist students in capturing the particular mood of the moment and to express themselves in a bold and colorful way, while capturing the beauty and spontaneity of life.”
