Peopleologie offers experiences for making things the old, slow way using hands and minds together. Workshops marry the humanities, history, sciences, and math, with folk art and craft.
This past month saw the beginning of a clay work residency with 450 elementary school students. Each student's piece is being built, fired, and painted over the next two months. Stay tuned for the results...but the process is what it's all about!
The Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services and Redwood City Public Library presents a Concrete Communities cultural experience with music, dance, information, and food trucks. Peopleologie will provide cultural artifacts to touch, wonder, and explore.
AFRICAN AMERICAN QUILTS
More Than A Month family program
SAT, FEB 29
Learn about centuries-old sewn quilt patterns used secretly during slavery along the Underground Railroad. Then, with up-cycled paper or fabric scraps, math, geometry, and your imagination, create a cooperative quilt and wall-hanging. This program is designed for families working together, ages 5 and older.
You are invited to donate your quilt "block" to the community whole for public display at the Library, and later this year, in gallery space at the SFO Museums!
