Food and Faith to Fuel your Health Feb 11, 2020

How much is too much sugar?

I hear it all the time, “But I am addicted to sugar!”

Many of us feel that if we tried to cut out sugar, we would fail because of our addition.  Speaking as a former addict myself.  I can tell you that it is very possible to cut it out even if you feel you are addicted.  It is also very possible to at least CONTROL the amount you are consuming.  I am not saying it is always easy, but it is possible.

Sometimes the best things are the hardest things.

Sugar Recommendation: No more than no more than 6 teaspoons for women and 9 teaspoons for men per day for ADDED SUGARS. You can now find "added sugars" on your food label!  That includes all sources, whether it’s agave, sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, or any other source.

If you are struggling with sugar addiction, what is your next step?  How can you encourage yourself to reduce the amount you are eating?  What has worked well for you in the past?

Bible Verses for the week:
1 Peter 1:13
"Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
