Canadian Mental Health Association – Waterloo Wellington is looking for Supportive Child Care – Strengthening Families for the Future (SFF). SFF is a skills-building program for parents and their children who are looking to grow their family skills. Families arrive at 5pm for dinner, the parents and children attend separate educational groups from 5:30 – 7:30pm. When parents and children attend the educational component of the group, volunteers provide supportive childcare to children. Other tasks include prepare and serve the snack and dinner, play games, crafts and help tidy up at the end of the evening. This program takes place on Tuesday evening at Arthur United Church. The Elliott Community requires The Great Escape Fundraiser Event Day Volunteers. In this volunteer position you will assist with some of the following duties: Servers (Smart Serve certification an asset but not required); Kitchen Support; and Auction Attendants. Volunteer responsibilities may vary throughout the day. This one-time special event will take place on Sunday April 5, 2020 from 10:30 am -4:00 pm. at The Elliott Community, 170 Metcalfe St Guelph. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph is looking for Big Brother Volunteer – Match Program.  A volunteer Big Brother will be a positive role model to a child (Little Brother). Volunteers will see their Little Brother on a consistent basis, usually once a week. The volunteer and child will participate in fun activities such as sports, biking, games, watching movies, building models, etc. Volunteers and children are matched on interests, location and age preference. This is a long -term commitment of a minimum of 18 months. At this time there is a waiting list of boys waiting to be matched. Click here for more information and to apply. 
 
Guelph Non-Profit Housing Corporation requires Director, Board of Directors As a member of a board of seven community volunteers, you will attend monthly Board meetings that take place on the last Tuesday of the month as well as the Annual General meeting. As a Board member you will manage the affairs of the Corporation and be responsible for fundamental decisions concerning the development and management of social housing projects.  Once appointed the Director must always act in the interest of the Corporation and not in their personal interest or the interest of a group with which they are associated. Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, Guelph Brain Tumour Support Group is seeking Guelph Brain Tumour Walk Committee Members to plan the Brain Tumour Walk from the kick-off to the wrap-up. Some committee members focus on recruiting volunteers and securing sponsorships. Others focus on event logistics and find ways to enhance the event experience. The event will take place on Saturday June 27, 2020 at Riverside Park. Click here for more information and to apply.
