Für Schüler, die die GESS zum Ende des zweiten Halbjahres oder während des ersten Halbjahres verlassen, muss die offizielle Benachrichtigung über das Online-Formular im Elternportal bis zum 30. April 2020, 17:00 Uhr (Ortszeit Singapur) erfolgen. 

Benachrichtigungen per E-Mail, Hinweise an den Lehrer, Telefonanrufe oder Abmeldungen auf anderen Wegen werden nicht akzeptiert. Schulgebühren für das erste Halbjahr 2020/21 sind fällig, wenn bis zu diesem Datum keine offizielle Abmeldung eingegangen ist.  
Sie erhalten eine Abmeldebestätigung per E-Mail, wenn das Formular erfolgreich abgeschickt wurde, sowie ein offizielles Abmeldungsschreiben zum Ende des Halbjahres. Bitte beachten Sie, dass nicht bestätigte Abmeldeanfragen nicht akzeptiert werden. Schüler der 12. Klasse müssen das Abmeldeformular nicht einreichen.

Schulzeugnisse, Empfehlungsschreiben und Aufsicht von Aufnahmeprüfungen  
Wenn Sie für die nächste Schule Ihres Kindes Schulzeugnisse, Referenzschreiben, Bestätigungsschreiben oder eine Aufsicht für die Aufnahmeprüfung benötigen, füllen Sie bitte das Formular für Schulzeugnisse oder Dokumentanfragen im Elternportal aus oder wenden Sie sich an school@gess.sg  

Selbst kleine Spenden an den GESS Fund machen einen großen Unterschied im Schulalltag Ihrer Kinder. Insbesondere, wenn sie von Ihrem Arbeitgeber aufgestockt werden!

Das geplante Konzert mit der Sinfonietta, dem Orchester der Deutschen Schule Kuala Lumpur, musste leider folgend den Empfehlungen des singapurischen Bildungsministerium abgesagt werden.

Mit Bedauern teilen wir mit, dass der 16. GESS-Volkswagen-Cup verschoben wurde und somit nicht Ende Februar stattfinden wird. Wir wissen, dass die allgemeine Vorfreude riesig war, müssen aber in erster Linie eine Entscheidung zum Wohl unserer Teilnehmer und Schulgemeinschaft treffen. Den neuen Empfehlungsrichtlinien des Ministry of Education für solche Events (und den ensprechenden vorbeugenden GESS-Maßnahmen) folgend, ist eine Verschiebung unabdingbar. Wir möchten an dieser Stelle unserem Sponsor Volkswagen für das Verständnis und die weitere Unterstützung danken.

Wir werden das neue Datum für den 16. GESS-Volkswagen-Cup in Kürze bekannt geben.

Basketball: Gold für GESS! Unsere U19-Mädchen waren schon in der ganzen Saison absolut überragend. Auch im letzten Spiel gegen Global Indian School ließen sie sich nicht lumpen und gewannen mit 47:27. Ein paar Saisonstatistiken gefällig? Sieben Spiele, null Niederlagen, 297:83 Punkte. Und logischerweise ein mehr als verdienter Platz 1. Toll gemacht, Ladies!

Volleyball: Gold für GESS! Ähnlich unaufhaltbar präsentierten sich unsere U14-Volleyballjungs in ihrer Division. Im fünften (und aufgrund der verkürzten Saison) letzten Spiel war Stamford American School zu Besuch. Ein engumkämpftes Match entwickelte sich, doch unser Team konnte die Oberhand behalten und letztlich den 2:1-Sieg einfahren.

Fußball: Gold für GESS! Vergangenen Dienstag richteten wir das Finalturnier der U10-Jungen aus. Sieben Mannschaften spielten um Medaillen in ACSIS Division 2 und einige Fans versammelten sich auf der Tribüne, um unsere Jungs anzufeuern. Kein Wunder, dass Coach Anands Team über sich hinauswuchs und sechs Spiele gewann, ohne auch nur ein einziges Gegentor zuzulassen. GESS wurde mit dem ersten Platz belohnt, die Canadian International School und Dover Court folgten knapp dahinter auf den Silber- und Bronze-Plätzen.

Alle verbleibenden ACSIS-Spiele in Saison 2 wurden aufgrund der Coronavirus-Situation abgesagt. In der nächsten Woche präsentieren wir die restlichen Liga-Platzierungen unserer Mannschaften.

For students leaving GESS at the end of Semester 2 or during Semester 1, official notification must be sent via the online form in Parent Portal by 30 April 2020, 17:00 Singapore time. 

Notifications sent by email, note to teacher, phone call or other means will not be accepted. School fees for the first semester of 2020/21 are due if no cancellation has been received by this date. You will receive a withdrawal acknowledgement email when the form has been successfully submitted and an official termination letter by the end of the semester. Please note that unconfirmed withdrawal requests will not be accepted. Grade 12 students do not need to submit the withdrawal form. 

School Reports, Reference Letters and Entry Test Supervision 
If you require school reports, reference letters, school confirmation letters or entry test supervision for your child’s next school, please fill out the Student report or letter request form in the Parent Portal or contact school@gess.sg

Even modest contributions to the GESS Fund can make a huge difference in your children’s school experience. Especially if they are matched by your employer! Have you checked if your employer is actively supporting your philanthropic engagement? Many companies offer a matching gift programme to their employees, and so your modest contribution could double, or even triple, growing into a sizable contribution to the GESS Fund. It is with much regret that the school has made the decision to postpone the upcoming 16th GESS Volkswagen Cup in end-February. While we understand that you have been eagerly looking forward to this annual event, the well-being of our participants and community is our primary concern. With the enhanced Ministry of Education guidelines for large events and precautionary GESS measures, we have decided that the best course of action is to postpone the event. We would like to thank our sponsor, Volkswagen, for their continued support and understanding.

We will announce a new date for the 16th GESS Volkswagen Cup in due time.

The planned concert of the Sinfonietta, the orchestra from DSKL in Kuala Lumpur had to be cancelled due to the regulations issued by the Singapore Ministry of Education.

Basketball: Gold for GESS! Our 19U girls have been absolutely outstanding all season long. They also kept a clean sheet in their last game, winning 47-27 against Global Indian School. Some statistics? Seven wins, no losses, 297 to 83 points. This is a well-deserved first place. Job well done, ladies!

Volleyball: Gold for GESS! The 14U volleyball were similarly unstoppable in their division. In their fifth and (due to the shorter season) last game, Stamford American School was visiting. A close-fought match developed but our boys managed to keep the upper hand and secured a 2-1 win.

Football: Gold for GESS! We hosted the Football Boys 10U Final’s Day last Tuesday. Seven teams competed for medals in ACSIS Division 2, and many fans came to watch and cheer our boys on. Sure enough, Coach Anand’s team delivered an exceptional performance, winning six games without conceding a single goal. They were rewarded with 1st place, closely followed by the Canadian International School and Dover Court on silver and bronze medal ranks.

All remaining ACSIS fixtures in Season 2 have been cancelled due to the Coronavirus situation. Stay tuned for more updates on our teams’ final achievements next week.
