We have recently been challenged with the teaching on the seven mountains of influence. This week we will look at a biblical story to illustrate the taking of new ground. In Joshua 3 & 4 we see the priests carrying the ark of the covenant across the Jordan. When the “soles of their feet” touched the waters the river parted and they all entered the land. To commemorate this amazing event they took stones from the river bed as a memorial. So this week we will look at where we are placing the soles of our feet and the stones of testimony we are gathering for our future encouragement.

Franklin Graham reflections
Many of you will know that Glasgow City Council cancelled Franklin Graham’s booking of the SEC Hydro last week after a liberal Church of Scotland minister and Patrick Harvie MSP portrayed Graham as a preacher of hate. Other public venues have begun closing their doors to Christian events on the basis of pre-emptive complaints about the views of speakers deemed politically incorrect. Ironically Christian speakers are being no-platformed in the name of inclusion! Here are some of my reflections on an issue that has crystallised the current position of our faith in secular Scotland under three headings:
1. Equality, Diversity and Hate Speech
2. The Gospel
3. Freedom
Part 1: Equality, Diversity and Hate Speech
Equality and diversity ideology is not always benign.
Hate speech laws seriously undermine freedom of speech.
They are flawed because they don’t rest on what is said or their intent but on the offence taken by listeners.
They are open to abuse by people in power to silence those who disagree with them.
They masquerade under the guise of kindness and equality to create new unequal and unjust hierarchies.

Firestarters Prayer Wall
Take some time this Sunday to review the prayer wall in auditorium written by the young people last weekend.
The Lounge
The Lounge is on every Wednesday this month. Invite friends and come to discuss everything under the sun from a faith perspective. Taste and C Cafe will be open to purchase refreshments.
As the weather turns colder please remember to donate to the Foodbank, if you can. They welcome all donations of non-perishable food. Nothing that needs to be kept in the fridge please.
