We are being told that it is time to let you know what is happening with MK Quilts in 2020. Paul is practicing his secret service stance as he is looking forward to escorting MK to Solihull, England at the end of April for her teaching event. There is so much going on before that date. Both of them are crazy busy.

Thank you for the record-setting year!
We rocketed into the top 25 retailers in 2018 and thanks to more than doubling our HQ sales in 2019 we are once again a Top Sales award winner!
We believe our success is due to the unmatched service and support that we provide. We are continuing to focus on our training and support services in 2020.

Coming Feb 10th: MK Quilts University
We will be announcing our new MK University site to our MK Owners this week and opening it to all customers on Monday the 10th. (MK has a new class coming out and we had to move things up.)

A better way to learn. All existing video content will be available via this new site. You will be able to download most videos or you may request them shipped to you on a USB storage device for an additional charge. The current (Yondo) video site will eventually be retired.

What will be new?
- Training will be broken into smaller sections/chapters to allow a better-structured learning process.
- Videos will be downloadable from the site.
- Active learning through regular live webinars.
- Content for quilters/piecers, not just longarmers.
- Small Business content - How to make money with your longarm.
- Technical content - learning your computer from a longarm perspective
- Troubleshooting content with step-by-step videos for...
- Resolving tension issues
- Testing timing
- Avoiding common problems
- Active training courses with instructors presenting training over weeks and taking questions as they go.
- Premium support for people on a membership plan.

There will be free content. You can purchase other content as you go or join one of several membership levels. Our MK Owners are automatically members of our Concierge membership level for two years which gives them free access to everything. We trust our community to not download content and then post or share it without permission.

Our hope is to provide more content to more people.

Wanted: Video Producer for MK Quilts
|
|
|
MK Quilts is intending on producing much more content and regular postings of webinars and video training on the MK Quilts University site. This will require much more time editing, formatting, and polishing these videos. Before we off-shore this function due to our tight budget, we would like to ask our community for candidates.
We would be willing to consider aspiring video producers in high school or college, but they should have some past experience and their own tools that they are familiar with.

Have you seen the new training facility?
The MK Quilts studio in Florida has doubled in size with the new community meeting area. Open for public use by other groups, MK Quilts is already scheduling classes for both quilters and longarmers.

MK will create new content on her Infinity in the new space. MK'Forte and MK'mara are next door in the original studio.
|
|
|
|
Don't worry, the toolbox has moved out. The four-inch padded chairs provide comfortable seating around the sturdy 8-foot tables allowing 16 people with sewing machines to comfortably work on their projects.
|
|
|
|
The LED lighting dims so that Pro-Stitcher and other training can be given on the large television. MK vetoed the Tiki-bar... for now.
|
|
Small Group Pro-Stitcher Training
As part of the 'keep MK home more often' objective for 2020, MK will be offering regular small group Pro-Stitcher classes for 3 or fewer people. Two-day classes will be offered to new MK longarm customers, in studio, in lieu of a single day of training in their home. This will be focused newbie training that will be open to others when space is available. We want one person to a machine.
Out of town participants will to fly to Tampa or St. Petersburg airport. The shop is 30-45 minutes away depending on traffic. There are many hotels and dining options in the area. Not to mention golf courses, beaches, and amusement parks for those you may have to drag along.
Pro-Stitcher Sim Training Events
MK is also conducting her normal Pro-Stitcher two-day training events for up to 16 people at the studio. This is focused on Pro-Stitcher Simulation and conducted on your laptop. This content is good for the beginner, however, MK is working to provide pre-class content to make sure that people are up to a base level. Be sure to have your laptop checked out by Mr. MK if you are concerned.

Free Motion Quilting
Ellen Ault, our Studio Manager, is a talented free-motion longarmer. She will be teaching these skills at regular local classes in the studio. Check our website events calendar.

Learn ProStitcher with MK in person at one of her live training events!
If you would like to attend an event in your area, MK has said, "If you build it, I will come." So if you want MK in your area, start planning it now. You do not have to be an MK Quilts machine owner to sponsor an event. Anyone can also request private training at the MK Quilts studio in Florida. Make it part of your next vacation.

MK's Corner
Happy New Year, everyone.
Guess what, our tree has been put away, but my Christmas quilts still adorn our home. There just hasn’t been a spare minute to take them down. That’s ok, I love all of them.
This newsletter is packed, isn’t it? Once again, I need to thank my loving husband for always pushing me in new directions and taking that business-minded approach with all things MK Quilts. This allows me to continue to do what I do best. Quilt and teach others to quilt. Using our Pro-Stitchers of course.
As of the date of this Newsletter, HQ has rocked our worlds with the release of Pro-Stitcher Designer and the new Beta version of Pro-Stitcher Premium is looking so so good. These products have rocked my world the most and my head is just swimming with ideas that I want to create for you all. I think this new online venue, MK Quilts University, will be leaps ahead of and miles above where we were, and I think it will allow us to bring more quilters into the MK family.
The studio is finished and gorgeous. The events we’ve planned there are already full or filling up. The machines are humming along, thanks to Ellen. MKfinity and I are poised to bring you much much more content. These are exciting times. I can’t thank you enough for being an MK supporter. We have worked hard, we will continue to work hard, and we hope you’ll continue to be a part of something unique in our industry and tell your friends to join. Being a part of a large quilting family is a pretty awesome place to be.

NEW 2020 Longarm Pricing
New Training Options
With the announcement of Pro-Stitcher Designer being included with all longarm with Pro-Stitcher bundles (doing away with the Art&Stitch option), the 2020 pricing model has changed. In order to offer the bundles at the lowest price, we will no longer be offering "A day of training with MK in the customer's home."
