The Oregon Legislature is in Session. A major climate bill, this session's bill # SB 1530, has been years in the making with work groups and task forces during and between sessions, and innumerable hearings with testimony from the public and expert witnesses.
It's time for the legislature to pass a strong Climate Bill in Oregon!
All Hands on Deck for the
Climate Emergency Day of Action
February 11, 2020 at the Capitol
Rally at Noon
Join 350 Salem OR, Renew Oregon & allies from around the state to stand strong for the climate. Rally starts at Noon and other activities may take place during the day.
The fossil fuel industry and their allies are working hard to weaken SB 1530. We need to send a message to legislators that Oregon needs a strong climate bill that will cap greenhouse gas emissions and invest in a just transition to a clean renewable energy economy for Oregon communities. House Committee on Energy & Environment
February 13 at 1:00 pm Hearing Room D
We can't testify at a Work Session but we can be in the room to show opposition.
HB 4049 would make the Covanta waste-to-energy incinerator in Marion County eligible for Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). As members of the Clean-Air Now Coalition 350 Salem OR is opposed to this measure. RECs are intended to be incentives for new clean renewable energy. The incinerator is neither new nor clean nor renewable.
Send a message to Members of the House Energy & Environment Committee and to your own legislators. For good ideas on HB 4049 to send to legislators go to this Action Alert from our Allies at Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility. Put your message in your own words:
