Sharing Sacred Spaces
at St. James Episcopal Cathedral
Sunday, Nov. 6, 2-4pm
St. James Episcopal Cathedral will open its doors to the general public as well as to visitors from other religious and spiritual communities this Sunday Nov. 6, 2011, from 2 to 4pm.
This event is the third installment of the Sharing Sacred Spaces project, in which eight different religious communities in Chicago are opening their doors to each other and to the public.
Come and learn about your Episcopalian neighbors— their rites and practices, their theology and their commitment to social justice.
Come and experience this remarkable sacred space—the sanctuary is visually stunning, with original stenciling and ornate patterns which incorporate 26 colors. The architectural structure is Gothic.
Enjoy their hospitality and start up a conversation. Learn how Episcopalian theology is expressed in their worship and practice. Bring questions, engage with others.
Stay and enjoy their evensong concert at 4pm to experience another aspect of what makes this space sacred.
The doors will be open. Come on in!
