February 2020 News Report

" For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,"
Colossians 1:9-10

A Quick Trip to Guatemala

A few weeks ago, we had the honor of flying back to Guatemala to attend the wedding of Juli’s sister Brenda. Though David had made many trips over the last year to Guatemala for ministry, due to her immigration process, Juli had not been able to travel with him and had gone over a year since she had last seen her family. It was joyous occasion and we give thanks to God for His incredible provision to make the trip happen, along with His undeniable favor on each step of the journey. We want to give thanks to everyone for your support that allowed us to make this a possibility for our family.

Home Groups Have Begun!

One of the many things that God placed on our hearts last year when we decided to stay was to “Disciple the Church.” Recently, we were finally able to put that word into motion when we got to launch our first home group at Transformation Church. Our group consisted of about 10 adults and about 7 children (1 of which was a kid from the neighborhood that William brought along). Because the current topic at Transformation Church on Sundays is “Live Known”, we were able to discuss in greater detail what it means to live known and transparent before God. We also got to talk about what it means to be the bride of Christ and how Jesus said that eternal life was found in intimacy and a “marriage covenant” with God. It was powerful and we believe that all of us walked away deeply impacted.

Kid's Life Continues to Develop!

As many of you know, over the last 8 months, Juli has been serving as the Children’s Pastor of Transformation Church and the Kid’s Life Ministry. It has become apparent that the children of this nation are in deep of the transforming power of the love of Jesus. By looking into different resources, we have come to realize that 2/3 of the kids who attend church on a regular basis do not have a personal relationship with Jesus. Thus, we have seen that we are working in a fertile ground for evangelistic ministry. Over the last month, we have been going back to the basics and encouraging the kids to memorize scripture, nurture their relationships with one another, and learning how to worship.

A Prayer Request!

As many of you know, one of David’s deepest passions is to teach and train the local church. During our years in Guatemala, we were able to lead many training schools with YWAM, while also beginning the process to discover potential curriculum for a training program that could be utilized by the local church to make disciples. Recently, this idea has re-surfaced and we are praying about how to develop a practical and effective program that will benefit the local church body. Partner with us in praying for wisdom of how and when to make it happen.
