There is still time to sign up to take the Mixed Medium class at the Clare Depot on Tuesday, February 11. The class will begin at 6. You do not have to have experience in painting, just bring your creative ideas to the Depot. Please call Linda to register at 989.386.3379.

Also Bob Guiliani's Shoot and be creative class is scheduled for next Wednesday, February 19 at 6:30. You will learn what to do with the photographs you take on your phone. If you have questions, contact Bob at bgui@voyager.net or Carol at 989.386.3925


Also next Saturday at the Pere Marquette Library is an adult craft of making a gum ball machine. More details are listed below.

Everything you wanted to know about houseplants but were afraid to ask.
Robin Kruskamp from Clarabella Flowers will be presenting on April 14 about houseplants. This will be at the Clare Depot starting at 6 pm. There is no charge for this event. 

Shoot and Get Creative
Today's phone camera make it easy to record the scenes and actions in front of us. Now that you have pushed that button, what's next? Bob Guiliani of Guys and Dolls studio will be presenting a two hour seminar discussing techniques to improve your phone photography. He will demonstrate various apps a\that add enhancements and creativity to your images. It will be February 19 from 6:30-8:30 at the Clare Union Depot, 4th Street, Clare. Cost is $20. Mixed Medium 
Linda Thompson again is offering a class using mixed medium. Mixed medium is using cloth or other materials along with your paints to create a picture. It will be held on February 11 at 6 pm at the Clare Depot. Cost is $30 which covers your canvas and all your materials. Call Linda to register at 989.386.3397.

DIY Gumball Machine 
At Pere Marquette Library on February 15 from 11-1. These DIY Gumball machines call be used as an adorable house decoration or can be used to put a sweet smile on someone's face. Join us for a crafting party where you will make one. Spots are limited. Sign up is required. 989.386.7576

Do you like to Sing?
CMU Festival Chorus is welcoming singers who would like to sing the Brahms Requiem at 7:30 on Friday, April 17 and Saturday April 18. Rehearsals are from 7-8:30 on Mondays at CMU music building. For more information contact Dr Amon Eady at 989.774.3391.

Miz Rosie the Storyteller
Will be at the Pere Marquette Library on February 24 from 3:30-4:30. She will be telling the Life of Harriett Tubman. Contact the Library for more details. 

Farwell Craft Show & Market Place
Will be held on Saturday, April 4 from 9-3 at the Farwell High School. They are looking for vendors. Call Shirley at 989.588.3140 for more information.

Farwell Band Concert
Will be held on February 20 starting at 6:30. The band concert is a pre-district band concert which will feature 7-12 graders. It will be held at the Jaimie Performing Arts Center at Farwell HS

News from the 515 Gallery

The 515 Gallery in downtown Clare, is excited to begin the 2020 season with “Views & Perspectives” featuring three women artists, Marlies Manning, Margo Berke, and Diane Mooradian from Thursday, February 27 through April 23, 2020. This unique combination of watercolors, pastels, pencils & quilts will showcase a beautiful creative appreciation of rural life. The free opening reception on Thursday, February 27 from 6-8 pm will have live music by the Palooka Brothers, an incredible all-timey string band.

Scrapbook Event
Harrison Congregational Church is hosting a scrapbook event on February 28 from 6-12 and February 29 from 8 am to 9 pm. It is $30 for a half table and $45 for a whole table. This benefits the American Heart Association. Contact Donna Thompson at 989.429.0303 for more information or to register. 

Irish Festival Recipe Contest
Will be held on March 12 starting at 5:30 at the Clare High School Cafeteria. Each contestant is allowed 2 dishes. There is free tasting for the community. For more information, contact the Clare Chamber at 989.386.2442

Quilt Block Painting
CCAC is once again offering for you to paint your own 2 x 2 quilt block. This unique experience will be held on May 12 from 4-8 at the Clare Depot. You will have a choice of two designs and 4 colors to choose from. Cost is $50 which includes all your materials.

Art Walk Central 
is an annual event designed to infuse art into the area and serves as a popular art competition for artist.  In 2019, 128 artist entered the month long event held in the Mt Pleasant area during the month of August. Artist registration for this event will take place March 2 through April 10. For more information or questions, please contact Art Reach in Mt Pleasant. 

Scrapbook Retreat
