YOUTH CAFE 2020 KICKS OFF

Our 6th Youth Cafe Skills School Programme started last week with an intake of 120 students!

They begin with their first month of life skills - learning essential life lessons on maintaining mental and physical wellbeing, managing personal finances, setting goals, time management and communication. We also address the vital themes of resilience, teamwork, and leadership.
OUR BRAND NEW DANCING GOAT COFFEE ROASTER IS HERE!

This week our first commercial coffee roaster arrives onsite! The Dancing Goat Roastery dream has become a reality. This means that our 2020 students will be the first cohort of coffee baristas to also be trained in the art of coffee roasting! It also marks the day another social enterprise is birthed at the Sozo Foundation. This means more job shadowing hours, more internships and more self-generated income which in turn will go toward funding more coffee baristas in the future...

A huge thank you to everyone at St Paul’s Ealing in London and especially Jos Melluish for driving the fundraising campaign which helped raise over R200 000 for Sozo to purchase the roaster. Also a huge thanks to our friend Dr G at Rock & Roller Coffee Culture, as well as Alessandro at Morrico for supplying us with such an amazing roaster and all the training and support to train the trainers at Sozo!
We hope you are excited to join us on our journey this year, as we trust and believe for great things for all our students and that many of them will unlock them dreams and purposes for their lives!
