Learn how a team of volunteer surgeons, nurses and anaesthetists travel to the remotest parts of Bangladesh to repair cleft palates, cleft lips and massive acid burns on women and children many of whom had lost hope of ever being normal. Barbie Mitchell OAM from Nepean tells us how this truly remarkable project was conceived, how it operates, the massive difference it makes in disadvantaged communities and the essential role that Rotary plays. We also meet Suzie Mikschl who explains how her Days for Girls programme enables girls in Bangladesh and now the Solomons, to attend school without interruption during their menstrual cycle.

The National Rotary Bushfire Appeal

The National Rotary Bushfire Appeal that our club donated to has this week exceeded $1,000,000 in donations and pledges! This is a fabulous achievement and reflection of the faith put in Rotary for its ability to return these donations to the communities so very much in need.

Our new collaboration with Toastmasters

Rotary is proud to be working with Toastmasters International, a leading international educational organisation that helps its members become more effective speakers, communicators, and leaders. This new collaboration is designed to enhance your membership experience, as well as help you expand your network, develop your leadership and communication skills, and make an even bigger impact in your community. There are many ways our club can get involved with the Toastmasters collaboration. To start, find a Toastmasters club and arrange a visit, or invite a Toastmasters member to one of our club meetings or social events. Toastmasters expect that interest in joining Rotary may be sparked by this new alliance and are urging district and club leaders to quickly follow up with any prospective members.
