Its a bird! Its a plane! Nope, its a helicopter! A couple weeks ago, quite the crowd gathered to see the helicopter take its first flight! It was really exciting to see it hover around as the pilot performed various flight checks. Over the past six months Jeremy and the other trainees have been rebuilding a Robinson R44 helicopter. This project has provided much needed maintenance experience for them as many of the mission fields are using helicopters more and more. Jeremy has been able to get hands on experience on this helicopter which will prove invaluable on the field. The aviation program in Papua New Guinea is actually growing its helicopter fleet from one to three! The helicopters should be arriving in country around the same time Jeremy is able to begin working at the hangar. The helicopter that they have rebuilt is built by the same company and extremely similar to the helicopters he will be working on in PNG. It has been so cool to see a mess of parts be put back together into a working and flying helicopter.
As much as the maintenance training is helping prepare Jeremy, the government of Papua New Guinea requires certificates from certified maintenance courses to be able to be licensed as a mechanic in PNG. Over the next few months, Jeremy will be traveling to attend these courses and learn the ins and outs of working on the airplanes and helicopters being used in PNG by Ethnos360 Aviation. These courses can be very expensive because of the details being studied. The courses also take place at the factories where the aircraft are produced so a lot of traveling is required. We need to raise $12,000 to cover the expenses. Would you prayerfully consider helping us with this next step of the journey? Gifts can also be sent to Ethnos360, 312 W First St, Sanford, FL, 32771 with a note designating it for Jeremy and Blinda Dunn.
Thank you so much for being a part of our ministry and lives!
In Christ,
Jeremy, Blinda, and Miyah Dunn
