Update & Events
Our annual business and planning meeting is now in the books. We have a working schedule, with more to come! The schedule is posted at the bottom of this email.
This year we really want to encourage more rides amongst our members. Smaller groups of people joining up to go to different places would be great. Everything doesn’t have to be a big organized club event - rides with 2-5 people are often the most fun.
To that end, we have created a new "Rides!" section on our forum. Looking for a couple of riders to join you for a ride up the St. Clair River? Perhaps a longer ride up to Duluth to visit Aerostitch? This is the place to find rides or look for other club members to join yours.
This can be a last-minute ride if the weather is nice, or something that takes a little longer to plan. Post the details in the forum. Where are you going, when will you depart, starting point, and estimated mileage, places to stay, etc.
To stay informed, click on the ‘Subscribe’ link at the top of the main page of the forum, and you’ll be notified every time someone posts a new ride. You will only receive one email every time a new topic / ride is posted. If you are interested in a specific ride, you can subscribe to the individual ride topic and you will be informed every time someone places a new post.
You must be logged into the site to subscribe. Be careful where you hit subscribe (main page of forum vs. a specific topic within) to control what type of notice you will receive (one per new topic, or every post within a topic). This should be a great feature that will help facilitate more rides!
Even during a big club ride, there are always many, many more TCD members potentially sitting at home on a sunny day than traveling with the club - so hopefully, this can help get more club members riding together on a more regular basis.
TCD Nite
We look forward to seeing everyone at the TCD night on Tuesday, March 10th at the Royal Oak Brewery. 215 E 4th St, Royal Oak, MI 48067. Start time is 6:30.
Officer / Club Volunteer Update
We owe a very special thanks to Dale Estes. Dale has tirelessly served as our webmaster and has decided to step back. He is responsible for adding a new look and a lot of functionality to our club website. It's never easy to transition to a new platform and Dale did a fantastic job. We truly appreciate everything Dale has contributed to the club. Thanks, Dale!
Please welcome Jennifer Ott Argentino as our new Webmaster. Jennifer is last year's Female High Mileage winner for the BMW MOA and is also now a sales representative at BMW Motorcycles of Southeast Michigan. She covers the bases with a G310R and a K1600GT. Thank-you Jennifer!
Larry Benitz has stepped up to fulfill our Editor position. Larry is a relatively new member and is looking forward to meeting everyone. He rides a K1600 GTL Exclusive and an R1200C. Thanks Larry!
Volunteer Opportunities
We are looking for a person to help with organizing club merchandise. Our TCD Store Manager will help set up our online ordering, and potentially a few special runs of merchandise. Please let us know if you would like to help!
