Sector News
- 'Caring for someone with heart failure towards the end of life' is a short guide for healthcare professionals by Marie Curie UK. The guide includes end of life care conversations, how best to support patients in making informed decisions, and managing symptoms.
- CareSearch have updated their Heart Failure clinical evidence with key messages, prognosis and need for palliative care, cessation of treatment and symptom management information.
- The Heart Foundation have a fact sheet which lists the current statistics on cononary heart disease in Australia.

- Although implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) reduce sudden death, these patients die of heart failure (HF) or other diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine if a clinician-centered teaching intervention and automatic reminders increased ICD deactivation discussions and increased device deactivation.
